EIDER 創立於1962年法國阿爾卑斯山的中心地區，接近白朗峰(阿爾卑斯山脈最高峰)是一間真正的自然實驗室。
EIDER 的名字來自一種北歐鴨鳥。這種鴨鳥總是使用最好和最美麗的羽毛包含它的鳥巢，藉此保護和使鳥蛋絕緣地保存。EIDER 是一些材料使用的先驅者, （特別在 Gore－Tex® ）現在的 EIDER仍舊在阿爾卑斯山脈的中心地區作為總部，繼續在這地點上和EIDER的專家與技術顧問在發展上作基礎。

Eider was born in 1962 in the heart of the French Alps, close to Mont Blanc – a real natural laboratory.
The name ‘Eider’ comes from an animal: a north-European duck who keeps its best and most beautiful feathers for covering its nest, thereby protecting and insulating its eggs. A pioneer in the use of several materials (in particular Gore-Tex®), Eider bases its development on the skills of its experts, and on its location in the heart of the Alps.
The Eider technical advisors enable to progress in the research and development of new products, whilst remaining at the cutting edge in the choice of materials, in technology and in quality to allow always go further and higher.
